Welcome to the home of my front-wheel drive, bike engined mini
The “R1 Manx” is a home built project car based on a 1990 Classic Mini Cooper. The name originates from the power unit, a Yamaha R1 bike engine, and from the nationality of the build team, who are from the Isle of Man, the capital of road racing. For many years I have wanted to take my mini to a new level of performance, specifically bike engined mini performance. This project represents the culmination of that dream and with the help of my good friend James, I hope to create what I consider to be a fun, unique, and functional bike engined mini. This site is dedicated to the project and I hope you, the mini fan, feel inspired by it enough to build your own dream mini one day.
